Our story
Independent by nature.
Personal by choice.
A home for Paul’s books.
Schattenberg Publishing is the imprint Paul Schattenberg uses to self-publish his books. It gives each story a home under one name, with the freedom to follow his interests as a writer.
Those interests range from the real-world challenges of Denali to the small-town warmth of Mistletoe in Maplewood.

Behind the books
Meet Paul Schattenberg
Author, aerospace engineer, photographer, and explorer.
Paul is drawn to exploration, structure, and story. His work spans engineering, photography, and writing, connected by a curiosity about people and the environments that shape them.
His experience on Denali informs Denali: A Journey of Friendship and Perseverance. During the 2022 expedition, he gave up his own summit attempt to help evacuate an injured climber, later supporting his team with weather briefings by radio. National Park Service mountaineering rangers honoured him with the Denali Pro Award.
